Abstract
Chorea is an uncommonly reported manifestation of hyperthyroidism. We report the first description of generalized chorea due to iatrogenic thyrotoxicosis and propose that the movement disorder is due to a direct effect of thyroxine on the basal ganglia rather than being an autoimmune phenomenon. © 2005 Movement Disorder Society
